Hook & Loop Pad Savers
Low stock
Serious Grit Pad Savers are here.
Whether you want mesh sanding discs to actually stay attached or you’re just trying to get more life out of your backing pads, pad savers are a smart addition to any shop.
What They Do
Pad savers solve a simple, common problem: backing pads wear out faster than they should. Serious Grit Pad Savers sit between your sanding disc and your sander’s backing pad, acting as a thin, sacrificial hook & loop layer that takes the abuse so your backing pad doesn’t have to.
They’re especially useful when using mesh and net sanding discs, which can struggle to adhere consistently and are more likely to fly off if the sander is started off the workpiece.
Why Use a Pad Saver
If you use mesh sanding discs, pad savers make an immediate difference. Better hook & loop engagement means fewer discs flying off, less edge lift, and more consistent attachment overall. The thicker hook & loop layer gives mesh discs something solid to grab onto.
That sacrificial layer also helps reduce heat transfer at the disc-to-pad interface - one of the main causes of premature backing pad wear.
No changes to cut.
No changes to finish.
Just better attachment and longer pad life.
